"OH THEM EAT'N MEET'NS" books are now available!

We at last have the book ready to sell. The title is "Oh Them Eat'n Meet'ns."

The book is available for anyone to purchase at any of our meetings, or if you want one mailed to you, we will be happy to do that. The cost of the book is $10.95 plus shipping and handling cost of $4.05 each, or a total of $15.00 per book if mailed.

The book tells of some of our experiences with the camp meeting circuit and the tent meetings Mary and I have been involved with for many years. It has over 200 pages of stories sharing the way God worked in those Eat'n Meet'ns. A few pictures are included but not as many as we would have liked. We noticed some spelling errors which we failed to catch before publishing, so hope you will forgive us for that!

Be sure to let us know if you would like to order one. We have them in stock and ready to ship.

Pictures we forgot to add.

Home For A Rest

We finished our meeting at Gallup, New Mexico.  We had a good meeting, well attended and several people were saved, including three the last night!  The weather for the last two evenings was bad.  We had heavy snow and cold, but the people just kept coming.  Everyone was amazed at the numbers.   We sure thank Pastor Gene Turk for having us and we look forward to returning there again.

The pictures show the snow, then the nice green grass of Oklahoma when we returned home yesterday, and then the one Mary and I are so proud of, our great granddaughter, Angle leading music and doing a special at church this morning.  Angel will be 13 years old this month, and was saved several years ago while with us at a tent meeting in Colorado.  She has good voice and loves people and doing things for them.  Of course, Great grandma and grandpa are just a little excited about all that, as you can tell!

We are home for a few days, then head out to Carbon, Texas for our last scheduled revival meeting for the year.  We will be doing the Second Coming Bible Study there, so we appreciate your prayers.   Thanks for stopping by and checking our blog.

Let is snow, let it snow!

We woke up this morning to four inches of snow! Guess it is that time of the year! We are at East Aztec Baptist Church, Gallup, New Mexico.  Gene Turk, is the pastor. We have had some decsions, and fairly good attendance each evening.

Bob Britton is doing the music, he is very good and we have worked with him several times in the past. The plans right now is for us to continue through tomorrow night and then end. Mary and I will then head back to Oklahoma. Thanks for your prayers as we travel. The snow is to stay around until Thursday evening, but we are praying it melts off before we have to hit the road.

Gallup, New Mexico, East Aztec Baptist Church

We arrived Saturday afternoon in Gallup, New Mexico. Met pastor Gene Turk and his wife, along with several others for a prayer meeting at the church in preparation for the revival. Sunday we had a very good crowd with two coming forward making professions of faith, and then last night, we had another. Praise the Lord!

Our truck and trailer ran fine and we are sure praying that at last things will return to normal!

We are about to wind down the year, only two more meetings after this one. We appreciate your prayers as we see what God has in store for this winter.

We have our book at the publishers, and hope to have them in our hands by the middle of November. Several people have already ordered them and if you would like one, let us know.

God bless, take care and we will post a picture or two in the next few days!

Bonham,Texas

We have just returned home from our last meeting which was held at Duplex Baptist Church, near Bonham, Texas. We were with Pastor James Rogers and his wife Lois. It was a well attended meeting and we sure appreciated the way the folks supported it. We parked our trailer besides James and Lois Rogers and it reminded us of some of the old times we had with them at other churches.

This was our last tent meeting for 2009. We set up the tent but the weather was so cold that we actually never met under it while there. Maybe the Lord will allow us another opportunity to do be there again, and we can make it during a little warmer weather so the tent can be used!

The meeting was a Friday thru Sunday and the folks fed us well and we certainly enjoyed being with them. There were new people from the area that attended and that is always a blessing for any church.

We are now home, getting ready to load up and head to East Aztec Baptist Church in Gallup, New Mexico for an 8 day revival meeting! We are looking forward to seeing and being Pastor Gene Turk.

We did get out truck and trailer back on the road again, and praise the Lord they both are running down the road in good shape again.

Catch you later!

Life On The Road

The Pictures are from Balmorhea, Texas where we are now!
Here is the story on how we got here!

On Thursday, we got our truck back from the shop. It was done ahead of schedule and we felt good about it. We left that evening from Wichita, Kansas pulling our trailer home. It was raining hard, and continued to do so all the way home. When we arrived home, the front jacks would not go down on the trailer, so we left it hooked up to the truck and went in the house.

On the way home we received word that a good friend of ours who had supported our ministry had died, and his funeral was the next day. Also, we had earlier planned on going to Arlington, Texas to see our friends the Newberrys and Burks. David and Debbie Burk's daughter Ashley was getting married on Saturday and we wanted so much to be there. IT was very apparent that there was way too much to do and not enough time to get it done. The main thing was we were to be in Balmorhea, Texas on saturday evening to set up the tent for a meeting at the ball park.

So, our minds started thinking, we could leave Friday morning, drive to the funeral which was at 2:00 PM, park our trailer at the church, attend it, then head on to Arlington, stay at an RV park there, then attend the wedding on Saturday at 2:00, then head that night to Balmorhea. We thought we could set up our tent on Sunday afternoon, since the morning service was scheudled in the church anyway.

On Friday morning, we went out to repair he front jacks, got that done, looked down and saw a hose hanging down under the trailer. It was the propane hose to the refriderator, a bracket had broken and it was torn loose. Repaired that and then hooked up, by now much later than we had planned, but still able to make our schedule. Pulled out of the drive way, looked back and the sewer pipe was dragging the ground. Pulled back to the barn, repaired that. Meanwhile, Mary discovered the cleaners had left off some of our clothes when she had picked them up. Called them, told them we would come by, park our trailer in front, pick up the clothes and head on. Pulled in to the clearners, heard some horrible sounds, parked checked, and found the rear axle and tires were not in line. The spring hangers on the rear axle had broken loose from the frame. By this time we were really late. Had to get the trailer to a shop for repair, unable to find anyone. Had to get the trailer home, and by the time we did that, and got someone lined up to repair it, it was dark. We had missed the funeral, and was going to miss the wedding, and had a 800 mile trip to Balmorhea ahead of us. Unloaded the truck, loaded up stuff in Mary's car and took off. We got to Wichita Falls late, spend the rest of the night in a motel, and headed to Balmorhea, arriving Saturday night.

WE had called Jack Martin, he loaded up his tents and since he was schedule to come to Balmorhea and cook the meals anyway, we used his tents. We got set up, meal prepared, (after a dog got into the raw hamburger and ruined it). Services held and all is well this morning. The trailer is to be repaied today and by Thursday we should be home, reloaded and on our way to Bonham, Texas for the next meeting.

Sorry for such a long blogg, but a lot has happened and we thank the Lord for the good that will come out of it. God bless to each one!
